Namaste!
Deanna encourages her students to
approach their practice with a deep awareness of their physical and subtle bodies, and to face challenges on and off the mat
with Suka (ease and joy) through the vehicle of the breath, a still mind, and an open heart.
Deanna draws from her background in Hatha, Iyengar, Ashtanga, and Kundalini yoga to create
inspiring heart-centered, alignment based classes incorporating creative and often spontaneous sequencing. Her yoga classes consist of classic Hatha yoga asanas (postures) often in vinyasa
(a steady flow of postures linked with breath), Kundalini inspired sets, pranayama (breath-work), mantra (chanting), meditation,
and information and awareness on the chakras (energy centers of the body). The fundamentals of yoga asana: alignment, awareness
of breath, balance, strength and flexibility are emphasized.
Deanna also teaches beginning and on-going meditation classes as well as classes in Mindful Living, a series of classes exploring the eight limbs of Patanjali's Astanga yoga and ways to incorporate these into our daily lives. Deanna’s meditation and spiritual practice
deepened exponentially after her first trip to India and studying extensively with one of her spiritual teachers, Amma Sri Karunamayi. She enjoys sharing the inspiration she has received from theses studies and her continued practice.

Deanna strives to create an environment in which
her students have the opportunity to continually open the intimate pathways of communication between their body, mind, and
spirit. Yoga asana and meditation are effective tools to bring awareness to these pathways as a means to balance and harmonize
the body, mind, and emotions so that we may become more peaceful, joyful beings and more at ease in our bodies. Yoga unites
the body, mind, and spirit.
